Just a little about us...
We're pretty simple folks...currently living in SW Florida and after surviving Hurricane Charley in 2004, we found the need to have a 'safe' place to run and flee from any future storms. Neither of us have ever lived in an area of the country where one day is 'normal'
and the next day is part of the drill of 'hunkering down', preparing yourself and
your homestead for the possibility of impending doom!
Although we were blessed and only received moderate damage to our home in
Punta Gorda, we decided it was time to build a place away from all of the storms.
After traveling almost back in time during the summer of 2005 to beautiful and 'laid back', Murphy, NC, we purchased a beautiful acre of pretty level land, selected a qualified builder, and built ourselves a little 'safe house' in the mountains that
was completed the week of New Years 2005...
so everything is bright, shiny and new.
Unfortunately, we don't have as much of an opportunity to use it as often as we'd like, and neither do our grown children and grandchildren with all their jobs and activites. Being that it's truly such a beautiful place to enjoy nature at its finest and relax and unwind,
we thought we'd make it available to you!!!
